Introductory Hands-on Workshop on IoT-AI for Healthcare
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a growing field in technology that connects everyday devices to the internet, allowing them to collect and share data. It brings together various areas like sensors, hardware platforms, communication networks, data processing, and smart applications. As a core part of the 4th Industrial Revolution – alongside Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data-IoT is driving innovation across industries. Learning about IoT involves understanding its overall architecture, the networking technologies behind it, and hands-on experience with platforms like Arduino and Esp32.
In healthcare, the combination of IoT and AI is creating smarter and more connected systems. Devices like wearable health monitors, smart sensors, and remote trackers collect patient data in real-time. AI processes this data to find patterns, predict health problems, and help doctors make faster, more accurate decisions. Together, IoT and AI are transforming healthcare into a system that is proactive, efficient, and centered around the patient’s needs.
Join us for a 3-day immersive Short-Term Course designed to bridge the gap between healthcare and cutting-edge technology. This Introductory Hands-on Workshop on IoT-AI for Healthcare offers a unique opportunity for students to explore the intersection of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in real-world medical applications. With expert-led sessions, live demonstrations, and project-based learning, participants will gain practical skills to build intelligent healthcare solutions at the edge. Participants will also get hands-on experience to PCB design.
Workshop Highlights
☛ Hands-on Learning with Real Hardware: Work directly with microcontrollers (ESP32, Raspberry Pi), sensors, and communication modules.
☛ Introduction to AI on Edge Devices: Learn how to train and deploy lightweight ML models using TinyML and real-time data.
☛ IoT Communication Protocols: Gain practical knowledge of MQTT, HTTP, Bluetooth, and LoRa for healthcare use cases.
☛ Live Dashboard Development: Create and visualize real-time sensor data using web dashboards.
☛ Circuit Design & PCB Prototyping: Learn basic PCB design and take home your own custom-built hardware.
☛ Team-based Project Work: Collaborate in small groups to build a mini IoT-AI healthcare solution.
☛ Certificate of Participation: Receive a certificate upon successful completion of the workshop.
☛ Internship Opportunities: Top-performing participants will be considered for paid internship opportunities with IIIT-H professors.
☛ Participant Comfort: Includes working lunch and light refreshments for all three days.
